“BRIGHT BLUE ICE” by YURI TOMASHEVI
A part of glacier ice felt and revealed a really blue ice, which was not previously in touch with an air. That happened just a night before I made this shot. This is why this ice is so blue.
You could scale up this blue piece of ice by comparing it with a boat, which has several people on board. This boat could be seen on a water on a left side of blue ice.
Over time this blue ice will white out and become blueish and then white.
Ice is water frozen into a solid state. Regular ice appear to be white because of air bubbles inside that ice. In glaciers, the pressure causes the air bubbles to be squeezed out increasing the density of the created ice.
Large quantity of water appear to be blue, as it absorbs other colors more efficiently than blue. Same is true for an ice in a glacier as that ice is a frozen water without impurities (air bubbles).
